Elementary English – Part 1

This is part 1 of the second level English language course. It focuses on all four skills through the enhancement of language production and reception. The course further builds upon the foundation of the previous level to reinforce language learning. Lexis is drawn from the reading and listening and recycled for consolidation within grammar, writing and speaking. More emphasis is given to fluency thus achieving higher levels of communicative complexity, through personalized real-life discussions and writing.

 

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Plan arrangements;

  • Write an informal invitation;

  • Talk about different foods;

  • Order a meal at a restaurant;

  • Write a blog about something one knows how to do;

  • Describe different towns;

  • Describe rooms and furniture;

  • Ask for and give directions;

  • Write a description of their neighborhood;

  • Talk about one’s family history;

  • Describe their hobbies;

  • Leave a voicemail message on the phone;

  • Write a life story.
